For a Lady - Birthday Cake

I wanted to Learn how to make cakes with rolled fondant. This and the next 3 cakes were my first attempt. I did them all in one evening for a 'combined' birthday celebration the next afternoon. We were on vacation in Florida. So I brought all the stuff with me on the Airplane and decorated these all in a hotel 'kitchen'.
This was for my mother-in-law's Birthday.

Little Pump and Purse Cake

This was for my sister-in-law's Birthday. I especially liked the little shoe and first time roses.

Seashore, Lighthouse Cake

This was for my father-in-law for his Birthday.

lightning macqueen Birthday Cake

This was for my 4 year old son's birthday.

Anniversary - rolled fondant

Another skill I have wanted to develop is 'rolled fondant' on cakes.
This one was for my grandparents 64th Anniversary. It was a combined effort of my two sister-in-laws and mother and myself. They did all the flowers and spheres on the base, I did the covering and the draping.

diaper cake!

I saw one of these online, and wanted to try my hand. It took about 45 min to assemble, and I thought it was WAY cuter than taking a box of diapers with a bow stuck on top to the babyshower. Not too expensive either.

yummy honey!

I am currently finishing a 'How to' for Honey cookbook. It is going to the printers in a couple of days. So I will let you know when the book is ready for purchasing. Until then, here is the cornbread!

First attempt at stitched book binding
